NOTICEI have decided to retire from blacksmithing effective January, 2009 and I am liquidating the equipment and tools. Shown below are descriptions and photos of remaining equipment .
This is a shop-made treadle hammer featuring a parallel arm design. The head, which weighs approximately 25 lbs., comes down over a 158 lb. Armstrong anvil. The anvil can be shifted around underneath the head. Price, including the anvil, is $400.
This is a Champion blacksmith's post drill in very good condition. It has a "power" down feed as well as manual down feed and has an original two-jaw chuck. Price $200.
This is a Mayer (Little Giant) 50 lb. trip hammer in excellent running condition ready to go. It comes with flat dies, drawing out dies, and several sets of grooving, fullering, & etc. dies. It has a 1.5 hp. single phase 220v. motor jack-shafted for proper speed, with a two-wire magnetic starter. The hammer is mounted on a heavy oak base. Price $3000.
This a Boice Crane heavy duty #4 Morse taper spindle drill press. It has a 3 speed motor (3 hp max.), a four speed gear box, and a three speed power down feed. It runs on 480v. 3-phase power. Included with the drill press is a static phase converter with a 220v to 480v transformer so this drill press can be run on single phase 220v power input. Also shown are a variety of chucks and taper-shank twist drill included. Price $600.
This is a ThermalDynamics Econopak 50 all solid-state plasma cutter, 35 amps maximum output cutting current.. It will cut 1/2" steel or any material of that or lesser thickness that can conduct electricity. It runs on 220v single phase power and requires a 60 psi 135 scfh (64 lpm) compressed air supply. (My 2 hp Sears 6.3 scfm @ 90 psi air compressor can easily keep up with this). Also included are all of the consumables I have for the torch and a shop-made downdraft cutting table that measures approximately 78" long by 24-1/2" deep by 37" high. There are leveling screws on the end of each leg. Price $1000. (Air compressor not included).
For sale is this crankshaft-type punch press, maker and vintage unknown. It has an approximate 24 ton capacity. It is powered by a 3 hp repulsion-induction motor, 220v single phase. There are no guards on this machine so it is for the owner-operator type shop. I used it for punching 1/2" round holes in 1/4" thick mild steel, for 16 ga. sheet metal punchings, and rectangular slots and holes in 3/16" thick steel. I will include the tooling I made for it. Price $400.
For sale is a shop made blower made from the impeller and housing off a junk Lancaster hand crank blower adapted to a 1725 rpm, 1/4 hp, 110v. single phase motor, ready to hook up to your 3" piping. This has minimal vibration and is quite powerful.. You will need some means, such as an air gate, to regulate the flow of air. Price $75.
I still have quite a few blacksmith tongs for sale ranging from $10 to $40 each. Even if you don't see exactly the pair for you, you could reforge one of them to exactly suit your needs. Your a blacksmith, right?
